Emma Winter stepped onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage looking absolutely terrified.
The 24-year-old primary school teacher from Wales admitted she was completely out of her comfort zone as she faced the judges and massive live audience. Her hands were shaking, her voice trembled with nerves, and it was clear just how much this moment meant to her.
But before she even started singing, Emma revealed something that instantly made the entire theater laugh.
She explained that all 35 of her primary school students were watching her audition very closely… and they had sent a very serious warning to the judges.
“If anyone presses the buzzer,” she joked nervously, “there’s gonna be 35 angry children waiting.”
The audience erupted with laughter.
Even the judges smiled.
Well… everyone except Simon Cowell.
As Emma prepared to sing Ed Sheeran’s emotional ballad “Thinking Out Loud,” the atmosphere suddenly became tense. The young teacher took a deep breath and began softly singing the romantic hit with a sweet, gentle tone that reflected both her kindness and nervousness.
You could hear the sincerity in every word.
The audience seemed fully behind her, cheering her on as she slowly gained confidence on stage. But just when it looked like Emma might survive the audition…

Simon Cowell slammed the red buzzer.
The loud sound echoed across the theater, instantly shocking the crowd. The audience immediately exploded into boos as people reacted to Simon completely ignoring the hilarious warning from Emma’s students.
For a moment, Emma looked crushed.
Still, she bravely continued singing despite the tension in the room. It was a painful reminder of how difficult and brutal talent shows can be — especially for someone stepping away from the safety of an ordinary life to chase a dream.
After the performance ended, the judges praised Emma’s sweetness and sincerity, but Simon didn’t hold back his true opinion.
He admitted her voice had a “lovely sweetness,” but bluntly described the performance as “under par” and “a little bit boring.” Simon explained that while Emma seemed lovely, he didn’t hear anything memorable enough to make her stand out in the competition.
And apparently… he wasn’t afraid of 35 angry children.
The audience continued booing Simon as the votes were revealed. Sadly, Emma’s dream came to an emotional end after receiving enough “NO” votes to send her home.
But despite the rejection, many viewers still admired her courage for standing on one of the world’s biggest stages while fighting through overwhelming nerves.
Because sometimes the bravest auditions are the ones that don’t end in victory.
