When 25-year-old Hunter Price walked onto the stage of America’s Got Talent, he probably never imagined his audition would nearly fall apart within seconds.
The singer from Georgia started confidently enough, choosing to perform (Everything I Do) I Do It for You by Bryan Adams — one of the most iconic love songs ever written.
But almost immediately, something felt off.
The performance sounded safe… predictable… and before Hunter could even finish, Simon Cowell suddenly interrupted him.
The room went silent.
Simon bluntly admitted that the audition felt “generic” and compared it to something he had heard “a million times” at karaoke competitions. It was a brutal moment that left Hunter visibly shaken on stage.
For a second, it looked like his dream might end right there.
But then Simon asked one question that changed everything:
“Do you have an original song?”
That’s when the entire atmosphere shifted.
Hunter revealed that he actually writes his own music and draws inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift. Nervously grabbing his guitar again, he began performing his original song, Left Behind.
